CONNECT with Our Industry’s Best Leaders!

The 2018 GMA Leadership Forum highlighted and honored the lifetime achievements of two of our industry’s top innovators and leaders – Irene Rosenfeld or Mondelez International, Inc. and Fred Morganthall of Harris Teeter and Kroger.

These outstanding industry leaders were presented the GMA Hall of Achievement Awards – our highest honor – at the GMA Leadership Forum, held August 16-17, 2018 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.

IRENE ROSENFELD

Irene has been a trailblazer in the food industry. She led some of the most iconic consumer brands through times of major transition and is one of the first women to serve on the GMA board in a leadership role. Irene began serving as CEO of Kraft Fods in 2008 and became Chairman in 2007. With the spin-off of Kraft’s North American grocery operations, Irene in 2012 launched Mondelez International, now a pre-eminent global leader in the chocolate, biscuits, gum and candy industry.

FRED MORGANTHALL

Fred’s no-nonsense approach and impeccable standards helped shape the retail and grocery manufacturing industry into what it is today. He started at Spartan Stores in Michigan, and joined Harris Teeter in 1986 as Director of Grocery Merchandising. He served as Vice President of Merchandising, Vice President of Distribution, and Vice President of Operations before ultimately being named President in 1997. After Harris Teeter merged with Kroger in 2014, Fred served as Vice President and laster as Executive Vice President.
